Energy Recruiters has been engaged to support our Client, a diversified energy company with assets throughout the Southeastern US, in their search for a Fleet Manager.

Responsibilities

The Corporate Fleet Manager is accountable for safe, efficient and timely completion of all DOT regulated company fleet vehicle repair and maintenance work.

The Corporate Fleet Manager is also responsible to ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with DOT guidelines, company safety, quality, and environmental standards, policies and procedures.

Responsible for administrative and technical supervision of company fleet mechanics.

Review, in cooperation with the Organization`s Maintenance Manager, corporate operations department work orders, 3rd party invoices, monthly expenses and establish realistic budgets.

Plan and schedule approved work orders and assign appropriate trade personnel to complete the work. 

Insure work is safely completed to a high standard, on time, economically and meeting operating department`s expectations.

Advise the operating department supervisors when discovery reveals anything that will affect quality, schedule or cost.

Observe vehicle operating systems to determine cause of failure, periodically inspect work completed by shop staff and test drive fleet vehicles as necessary.  

Provide available backup to the callout mechanic. Serve as the site callout mechanic 1 week/ month. 

Plan, prioritize, and schedule work based on production needs.

Assign and oversee staff work responsibilities, communicate weekly, monthly, annual goals and expectations required. Other projects as may be assigned by management.

Requirements

College Degree

5 years supervisory/management experience in a corporate fleet/mechanics environment required.

3 years management experience with planning department operations, parts, inventory and budgets required.

5 years’ experience as a mechanic preferred.

Hands on or working expertise that could include certification with diesel (or) DOT vehicle maintenance, alignment and repair required.

Previous experience leading the maintenance of an internal company operated DOT fleet preferred.

Proficient with a computer and software such as: Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Dossier or TMS Fleet Management, On Board GPS systems such as Rand McNally and vehicle diagnostic software.
