Energy Recruiters has been engaged to assist a leading convenience store chain in their search for a Senior Product Manager, Proprietary Beverages.
Based on Experience
The successful candidate will oversee the entire category sales plans from planning and development to execution at the store level. Through this process the Senior Category Manager will ensure all merchandising strategies fit the overall company strategy and store viewpoint.
Manage the category product line through improvements and product mix by national market drivers and regional drivers
Create develop and implement annual and seasonal category plans which include product selection, pricing, projected revenues, promotions and relaying all plans coherently to the store level.
Evaluate suppliers, determining if their products are a fit within the company guidelines
Work with procurement to maximize the lowest cost of acquisition for products and to narrow SKU offering at the store level.
Continually communicate with procurement personnel to achieve the optimum acquisition costs
Regularly meet with national vendors to discover new ideas and products
Develop pricing guidelines
Guides teams of Category Managers, Assistant Category Managers and district personnel according to planning guidelines
Adjusts and monitors pricing according to market indicators provided by field staff
Coordinates all marketing activities with Marketing Department for advertising, promotions, POP, co-op fund agreements and according to promotional strategies and schedules
Monitor all promotional activities with cost/benefit analysis
Minimum 5 years’ experience in packaged and fountain beverage category management in a vendor/supplier role to large retailers
Adept at financial analysis to perform cost/benefit analysis and for annual business planning
Strong negotiating and communication skills
