Energy Recruiters has partnered with a regional petroleum marketer to support their search for a Sales Manager position.  The Sales Manager leads a high-velocity sales team responsible for growing revenue across petroleum-related product lines, including fuels, lubricants, DEF, additives, and ancillary petroleum equipment. This role owns the inside sales strategy, pipeline performance, customer retention, and day-to-day execution of a team focused on outbound prospecting, inbound lead conversion, and account expansion. The manager ensures the team maintains strong product knowledge, understands market dynamics, and delivers a consistent, value-driven customer experience.

 

Compensation

$100,000-$120,000 plus bonus and relocation assistance

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop an inside sales team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.

Build and manage a structured outbound calling strategy targeting fuel distributors, fleets, industrial accounts, municipalities, construction firms, and retail operators.

Oversee inbound lead qualification, routing, and conversion to ensure rapid response and high close rates.

Maintain deep knowledge of petroleum products, including fuel grades, lubricant specifications, OEM requirements, DEF handling, and storage/dispensing equipment.

Analyze market conditions, competitor pricing, and customer buying patterns to refine sales tactics and messaging.

Partner with supply, logistics, and operations teams to ensure accurate delivery timelines, product availability, and customer satisfaction.

Develop sales scripts, objection-handling frameworks, and product training materials for the team.

Track KPIs such as call volume, quote activity, conversion rates, margin performance, and customer retention.

Manage CRM accuracy, pipeline hygiene, and forecasting discipline.

 

Requirements

3–5+ years of inside sales leadership experience, ideally in petroleum, lubricants, industrial distribution, or related sectors.

Strong understanding of fuel, lubricant, or DEF product lines.

Proven ability to coach teams and manage performance.

Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or MS Dynamics.

Data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.

Ability to work cross-functionally with supply chain, logistics, and field sales.
