Energy Recruiters has been engaged by an Atlanta-based Energy Marketer in their search for a Senior Controller. In this role, you will provide leadership and coordination of company accounting processes and internal controls.

Responsibilities
Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles.
Ensure management reporting provides effective information to run business.
Oversee daily operations of the accounting department and its staff in a strong IT environment.
Prepare monthly close including preparation of financial statements.
Compile financial and operating performance benchmarks by customer, product, divisions and departments.
Preparation for annual financial audits.
Create, enhance, and manage accounting processes (e.g., accounts payable/receivable, cash control/management, monthly detailed accounting reports), and develop other financial and accounting policies and procedures as needed.
Design procedures and billings to ensure accuracy.
Nurture relationships with outside financial resources
Reconcile all General Ledger Accounts
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives.
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff.
Provide accounting policy orientation for new staff.
Requirements
Knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and internal control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
IT and transaction processing experience.
Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
Knowledge of federal and state income tax regulations. Knowledge of fuel tax regulations a plus.
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
Working knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
Information technology skills must include ability to interface with information technology professional to control and account for high volume transactions.
Requires a combination of the completion of a Degree in Accounting with five to ten years of progressive experience in senior-level finance or accounting position. CPA a plus.
