Energy Recruiters has been engaged to support our client in their search for a Director of Retail Operations & Marketing.  In this role you will be responsible for successfully leading the overall operation of the Company’s retail stores. This position is responsible for achieving maximum profitability through the proper management of the field structure, as well as being responsible for implementing strategies and tactics with the maximum amount of cost efficiency while keeping with the high-quality standards of the company. This includes development and coordination across all customer touchpoints and channels—including direct, promotions, grassroots, advertising, social media/networking, loyalty, and in-store.

Responsible for supplier negotiations and relationship management. 

Responsible for execution of supplier negotiations to maximize profitability. 

Manage, analyze, and monitor market changes in product mix and retail prices to remain    competitive

Analyzes market trends and recommends changes to marketing and business strategies based on analysis and feedback

Develop and execute an annual marketing plan

Prepares and accountable for annual marketing budget

Plans and develops a strategy to enable the company to sell a range of products that delivers sales and profit targets

Uses available reports and information systems to maximize store profitability, control expenses, inventory levels, target margins, and shortages as well as recommend additional reports

Develop and implement Company initiatives, business plans and budgets in collaboration with key stakeholders in management team.

Establish and communicate annual sales and profit goals down to the store level and ensure that the objectives are met. 

Directs all Operations Team in developing and implementing best practices, measuring operational efficiencies, continuously improving productivity and achieving operational standards of excellence.

Instill a culture of accountability for P&L management, improving the customer experience and driving a culture of coaching, engagement and teamwork. 



10+ years of retail convenience store management experience marketing and category management side in positions of increasing responsibility with a recognized and reputable multi-site retail organization(s) demonstrating best-in-class practices and strategies.

Must have ability to switch between big picture thinking and attention to details

Demonstrated track record in developing, implementing and evaluating short and long-term plans that address business challenges and opportunities.

Strong command of the following skill areas: strategic thought leadership; P&L management and budget development; achieving financial results; analysis and problem-solving; influencing for success; and team building.

Must possess solid negotiation skills and the ability to lead, manage, develop and execute plans through motivation of others and well as self.

Demonstrated commitment to values-based leadership approach with a track record of building high-performance teams, effective succession planning and talent management.

Extensive knowledge and use of Microsoft Office products.

Demonstrated ability to assess performance using key metrics and ability to quickly identify improvement opportunities and collaborating across the organization to take the appropriate actions to address these.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing or equivalent relevant experience
