Energy Recruiters has been engaged to support our client in their search for a Freight Sales Representative.  In this role, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and growing our client base within the freight transportation industry. This role requires strong sales skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a sales strategy for new business development of freight sales.

Identify and prospect potential clients in the freight transportation industry, including shippers, manufacturers, distributors, and logistics companies.

Develop and maintain a pipeline of leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and other sales techniques.

Conduct sales presentations and demonstrations to showcase our company's services and value proposition.

Understand clients' transportation needs and provide customized solutions to meet their requirements.

Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms of service agreements with clients to secure business partnerships.

Collaborate with internal teams, including fleet operations, credit, customer service, and logistics, to ensure smooth onboarding and delivery of services to clients.

Keep abreast of market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.

Track sales activities, customer interactions, and revenue performance using CRM software or other sales tracking tools.

Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and analytics to leadership.

Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote our company's services.

Look for all potential back haul opportunities to fill existing asset availability and maximize truck efficiency/ utilization.

Develop and implement account plans to identify and monitor opportunities for assigned key account.

 

Requirements

A minimum of five years of face-to-face sales experience is required.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite skills required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)

Proficient in CRM software and other sales tools required (Dynamics, Salesforce, Etc.)

Proven track record of success in freight sales or a related sales role, with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets.

Strong understanding of the freight transportation industry, including knowledge of all transportation modes, regulations, and market dynamics.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.

Effective negotiation skills and the ability to close sales deals.

Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a drive to succeed in a competitive sales environment.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong collaboration skills.

Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.

Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
