Energy Recruiters has partnered with a leading manufacturer and marketer of advanced asphalt products to support their search for a Director of Projects.  The position will guide and direct global efforts in the broad category of engineering activities and will function in all phases of engineering level oversight that is specific to the business unit.

Responsibilities

Ensuring proper progress and development on active capital projects.

Work closely with Corporate Engineering to ensure appropriate assignment on major capital projects.

Consistent follow-up with project managers regarding project process and aid in difficulties as they arise.

Provide technical guidance to project managers on major project design and equipment selection.

Develop and oversee implementation of a plant-run project process; assemble team to develop a structured plant-run project process.

Ensure that process incorporates adequate levels of oversight to prevent waste and inconsistency.

Oversee the roll-out and implementation of the process within the Company.

Lead development and oversee implementation of automation plan.

Develop a vision for the business unit relative to automating plant processes with the express purpose of reducing manpower in the locations.

Lead in the investigation of potential solutions and development of the concepts to the point of implementation.

Responsible for identifying key regional support providers and contracting them for support of all automation systems in the region.

Develop the vision and path for drawing US and Mexico production systems closer together.

Working with both US and Mexican Operations leaders to identify the best methods and the ones that are viable to make changes

Corporate contact for the Company on preventive maintenance system.

Capital planning and implementation oversight responsibilities for US and Mexico.

Lead the annual capital planning process for the Company and Mexico and the quarterly updates and reviews of the ongoing cap-ex process for both countries.

Function as the corporate contact for US and Mexico to the supplier of the Company preventive maintenance program.

 

Requirements

At least 15 years of significant asphalt, PMAC, and asphalt emulsion processing experience.

Engineering degree is preferred.

Some consideration shall be extended to a non-engineering degree candidate if you bring 15+ years of practical engineering design within the asphalt industry.
