Energy Recruiters has been retained by a leading specialty chemicals manufacturing and marketing company to support their search for a Vice President of Operations. The position will be accountable for manufacturing excellence across multiple sites, including refineries and petrochemical facilities. In this role, you will lead the overall execution of strategies and tactics to deliver results through day-to-day operational protocols while reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Lead cross-functional teams at multiple operating sites to align site leaders & management teams, develop genuine trust, and drive operational excellence while serving as a role model and key champion for safety and performance.
Lead execution of operational strategies, including developing scalable processes that deliver the financial, cost, quality, safety, staffing, and service levels required to meet both short-term and long-range business objectives and customer expectations while ensuring financial strength and operating effectiveness.
Ensure objectives and outcomes align with, and deliver results specific to, the Company’s strategic goals.
Successfully lead, motivate, and earn the trust of your Team.
Meet or exceed performance expectations as related to objectives and KPIs in mission critical areas including health, safety, & environmental, operational reliability, product quality, turnaround execution, and capex portfolio management.
Execute on optimization and improvement projects to ensure safe, efficient, and on-target production.
Use data driven, fact-based decisions to maximize profitability while participating as a key leader in budget development and capital planning.
Develop and manage long-range, annual plans through an accurate and experience-based understanding of manufacturing operations, economics, P&L, accounting fundamentals.
Ensure that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.
Build a positive, collaborative, diverse, and results-oriented culture marked by employee growth, opportunity, and trust in leadership.
Work with direct reports to identify & leverage talent and capabilities throughout the operating sites while identifying, coaching, and mentoring current and future leaders within the current leadership structure to provide for capable leadership succession.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required
20 years of overall operations experience within the refining and/or petrochemical industry
10 years of operations management experience in progressively more responsible roles, including experience as a Site/Plant Manager.
Experience leading complex, multi-site and/or multi-company manufacturing operations with accountability for safety, environmental, reliability/utilization, quality, projects, and financial performance.
Significant CAPEX management and turnaround planning & execution
Capable of demonstrating experiences in transforming operational performance
Expertise in supply and operational optimization (e.g., feedstock economics, production rates/yields, energy consumption, etc.)
Crude oil procurement experience desired but not required
Highly organized and ability to prioritize workload
Knowledge, experience, and skills to be an effective leader and the ability to manage, influence, mentor and create trust at all levels of the organization
