Energy Recruiters has been engaged to support our Client, a leading convenience retailer, in their search for a Fleet Operations Manager.   This organization is operating and continuing to build a best-in-class refined products distribution business.

 

Compensation

$80K-$90K plus bonus, Comprehensive Benefits

 

Responsibilities

Supervises proprietary fleet operations in Texas. Responsible for ensuring fleet performance and compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.

Responsible for recruitment and management of fleet drivers.

Responsible for execution of Fleet SOP

Responsible for the performance of the fleet on key metrics including fleet utilization, arbitrage/best buy value, and safety. 

Ensure the fleet is operating safely and in compliance with all federal, state, and local law.

Manages the team responsible for fuel dispatch and delivery by identifying the most cost-effective method(s) of delivering fuel to retail sites

Coordinates with fuel teams and management to establish targets for Fuel Distribution Key Metrics: Driver performance, Inventory Days Supply, Delivered Costs, Arbitrage Capture, and Run out Rates.

Manage product quality turnover in compliance with RVP/government mandates.  Facilitates inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and distribution.

Improves company image by supporting company goals and developing internal and external information programs.

Provides management information on Fuel Distribution Key Metrics and other relevant departmental performance by assembling and analyzing data; identifying and researching trends; providing forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; advising management on needed actions.

Works closely with external software providers to review any software or application issues that may arise as a result of a problem with the application.  Also works closely with IT to develop system and application procedures for addressing issues and implementing program enhancements.

Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective actions. Allocates program costs by preparing operational and risk reports for analyses.

Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting and orienting employees. Maintains staff job results by training, coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results.

Manages compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

Resolves customer concerns by planning and directing the receipt, investigation, evaluation and settling of complaints and claims; following up with customers; personally resolving difficult situations.

Maintains safe and healthy work environment by enforcing organization standards; adhering to legal regulations.    

 

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field preferred.  Other combinations of job related experience and education that meet the requirements may be substituted.

Requires 10 years experience working in a petroleum dispatch department and/or heavy trucking industry; 3 years fleet management and supervisory experience.

Experience with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word preferred.

Requires experience working with TMW or similar dispatch software.
