Energy Recruiters is supporting a regional energy distributor in their pursuit for a Health & Safety Manager. The role will be responsible for creating an environment and culture focused on sustaining safe operations and engaged associates.

 

Compensation

$90,000 to $100,000 plus bonus, Health/Dental, 401k, etc.

Responsibilities

Oversee and ensure compliance and timely reporting of all OSHA/MSHA, DOT, FMCSA, HazMat, and NFPA regulations pertaining to operations while maintaining awareness of any amendments to those regulations and its impact on operations

Manage all aspects of the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Program

Develop, maintain, and proactively deliver educational materials and training that helps improve safety, including DOT, NFPA, OSHA/MSHA, HazMat, and company safety training programs

Create and administer all aspects of company safety policies and procedures, including incident response and reporting

Lead the Safety Committee efforts, including incident investigation, best practice sharing, in-cab safety video review, demerit point administration, and safe associate reward and recognition programs

Conduct on-site reviews and audits of all operational locations as well as safety audits compliance with DOT regulations

Develop and maintain safety programs around petroleum industry programs such as Cathodic Protection, Tank Inspections, Gas and Leak Checks, etc.

Provide reports and updates to executive management team regarding any safety issues, new programs, and regulation changes

Ensures that safety technology tools are used and those results are examined, trend data is analyzed, and plans are developed to reduce and then prevent future safety incidents

 

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety or related field

2 years of relevant industry experience and /or 6 plus years of experience in petroleum industry.

Strong Leadership Skills, Quality Focus and Problem Solving

Microsoft Office Product Knowledge and adept on technology

Prior experience with commercial fleet, industrial safety and health experience preferred.

In depth knowledge of OSHA/MSHA, DOT, NFPA, and HazMat regulations.
