Energy Recruiters has been engaged to support a leading Regional Energy Distributor in their search for a Director of Supply.  

 

Compensation

Based on Experience

 

Responsibilities

Develop the annual plan and secure appropriate products at desired locations from suppliers

Manage supply vendor relationships and product purchase contractual commitments

Manage terminal operations and hedge products to ensure product costs are consistent with market dynamics

Manage the company diesel additive program to procure additive, manage inventory and manage additive treatment

Evaluate pricing trends and market opportunities to lower total costs of purchased product

Manage dispatch operations team and schedule transport delivery to meet customer needs in an optimized route

Manage and continuously improve day-to-day transport performance and operating efficiencies

Ensure accurate recording and timely completion of bills of lading and supporting delivery documents

Monitor and assure dispatch compliance with all government regulations, including DOT hours of service

Support transport sales efforts with market pricing, purchasing and transport delivery operations

Lead annual budgeting process for transport and terminals

Develop, engage and lead a high-performance, results-driven customer service dispatch team

Manage outside common carrier partnerships to provide a high level of customer service at an effective market cost

 

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred

Minimum of 10 years total work experience, preferably in petroleum fuels industry

Minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial sales, trading or other assignment with outward facing commercial positions

Has developed and utilized technical and fundamental market data to manage company exposure

Thoroughly familiar with properties of all commodities in area of responsibility

Knowledgeable in transportation economics, refinery operations, trading economics and market intelligence in order to optimize product slate from alternative sources

High level of understanding of commercial and trading principles and processes

Thorough knowledge of refinery system/market balances, import/export regulations, foreign /domestic tax and credit implications

Expert written and verbal communication skills

Energetic, visionary, and inspirational leadership style

Results-oriented with strong commitment and follow through on execution and implementation
