Energy Recruiters is supporting a National petroleum distributor in their pursuit for a Director of Logistics & Supply Optimization. The role will be responsible for both strategic as well as day-to-day leadership of Logistics and Inventory Management.
$70,000 to $80,000 plus Bonus & Comprehensive Benefits
Provides day-to-day, hands-on, direction, oversight and implementation for all Frac inventory, supply and logistics.
Formulates policies, programs and procedures for transportation systems including schedules, rates, routes, assignment of drivers and vehicles and other terminal operations.
Submit recommendations for development of and compliance with, logistics policies, procedures and programs.
Plans, directs and implements vehicle scheduling, allocation, dispatching, licensing, and communication functions in accordance with established policies and objectives to effect economical utilization of vehicle facilities.
Overall responsibility for safety, logistics, DOT compliance, hiring, training, coaching and separation of drivers, logistics team and maintenance.
Manage a fleet of over 50 company vehicles (40+ employees) to maximize logistic efficiencies
Responsible for the logistics department budget and cost control
Responsibility for ensuring routes are scheduled properly and efficiently for over 35+Frac sites
Ensure that the logistics department is managed in the safest, most efficient and cost-effective method possible
Ensures Safety is at the forefront of all actions and decisions and DOT Compliance standards are administered, monitored and enforced
Works directly with Maintenance Team and team to ensure trucks are in good working condition; able to work up bids for new company vehicles
Understanding of all transportation systems current and future for the company and how to maximize use and return from each
Strategically manage the network and identify key initiatives to drive year over year total cost improvements, using lean logistics principles and tools
Utilize routing and logistics program TMW/Smart Logix to route and run cost/utilization reports for the leadership team
Negotiate with common carriers to establish backhauls at favorable rates; manage the coordination of the line-hauls to ensure timely uploading
Bachelor’s Degree in related field
5+ years of petroleum transportation experience
3+ years managing a group of 30+ direct reports
Experience in the Fracking industry a plus.
Useable experience with routing and logistics programs, TMW/Smart, Logix/FNN etc.
Job requires strong analytical and technical abilities and demands fast, but carefully thought-out results.
Strong leadership and control of the work process from beginning to end is necessary
