Energy Recruiters is supporting a National petroleum distributor in their pursuit for a Director of Logistics & Supply Optimization. The role will be responsible for both strategic as well as day-to-day leadership of Logistics and Inventory Management.

$120,000 to $140,000 plus Bonus

Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day strategic direction, oversight and implementation for all inventory and logistics specific to Frac Market Channel.
Formulates policies, programs and procedures for our transportation systems including schedules, rates, routes, assignment of drivers and vehicles and other terminal operations.
Submits recommendations for development of and compliance with, logistics policies, procedures and programs.
Plan, direct and implement vehicle scheduling, allocation, dispatching, licensing, and communication functions in accordance with established policies and objectives to effect economical utilization of vehicle facilities.
Maximizes efficiencies while ensuring the cost, quality and delivery are met while managing the team and carrier performance.
Overall responsibility for safety, logistics, DOT compliance, hiring, training, coaching and separation of drivers, logistics team and maintenance.
Job requires strong analytical and technical abilities and demands fast, but carefully thought-out results.
Strong leadership and control of the work process from beginning to end is necessary.
Requirements
8+ years of experience in the transportation, trucking/maintenance industry and 5+ years managing a fleet of over 40 trucks in multiple regions of the US
Building and managing a world class logistics team
Familiar with a variety of transportation concepts, practices and procedures
Experienced in fleet maintenance and safety, accident prevention, DOT compliance and audits
Proven track record of successfully managing a company-owned fleet with drivers in multiple states
Bi-lingual Spanish a plus
College degree, Masters preferred
Advanced analytical skills with the ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distributions, analysis of variance and correlation techniques
Conceptual, strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Prior profit and loss responsibility preferred
Independent, must be able to work with little direction or structure
Hands-on, customer driven focus
Experience as fuel deliver driver/dispatcher and knowledge of railroad industry a plus
