This role is responsible for leading a team of Territory Sales Reps in the acquisition and maintenance of accounts in the lubricants and fuel industry.
Expected to manage and build the region’s customer base, achieve volume and profit goals, and represent the values of the company.
Hands-on, strategic approach to working with Sales Reps, operations and suppliers to grow share with existing accounts and develop new business through a consultative sales approach. The Regional Sales Manager has a desire to enjoy winning against the competition.
Responsible for the overall success of sales that are concentrated in the Commercial and Industrial sectors of the industry, while growing our customer base and maximizing gross margin produced, profitable volume sold, and customer satisfaction.
Develop clear vision, goals, and objectives for the department that support company goals and objectives and keep team members focused on high performance
Implement a strategy for departments to examine and improve key processes used every day
Develop clear departmental strategy to achieve measurable and financial goals
Develop a coaching strategy for team members to achieve or exceed goals and objectives
Maximize productivity and minimize costs while maintaining a high standard of customer service – drive a culture of ongoing efficiency and excellence
Work with product line managers, corporate marketing team, national and regional sales teams, and inside sales to maximize regional and company earnings and overall volume growth
Develop teamwork with other regional and corporate operation groups ensuring consistent process and procedures
Work with supply to ensure maximum profitability
Identify tasks that are critical to maintaining customer satisfaction levels and communicate with employees to raise awareness of their individual roles in delivering satisfaction
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business
Proven leadership with the ability to drive sales, build relationships with key-account decision makers and teach Sales Reps how to engage prospects and win new business
Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution to meet deadlines
Ability to analyze evolving market trends and communicate key takeaways to educate team
Experience training team on how to overcome objections and problem solve
Strong communication (written and oral) and presentation skills
Ability to work from home office, in the field with Sales Reps, and occasional overnight travel
Proficient with CRM platforms, Microsoft Excel and Office programs
Experience in the fuel and lubricants industry is required.
A background or a network within the industrial, on-highway or off-highway commercial, and/or automotive markets is preferred.
