Energy Recruiters is supporting a highly respected energy company in their search for a Chief Operating Officer.  In this Executive role, you will be accountable for the overall performance of the business.  This opportunity is based in California and will support operations in the Western and Central US.

Based on Experience



Accountable for the overall financial performance of the business

Prepare and deliver the sales and operations road map that aligns short term goals with the organization’s strategic plan.

Communicate short-term and long-term objectives and actions throughout the organization from front line to company ownership

Support the budgeting & financial planning activities for opex and capex investments

Analyze the financial performance of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed.

Evaluate M&A opportunities that align with the company vision and successfully integrate newly acquired businesses

Lead recruitment, retention, and succession planning efforts across key roles in Sales, Operations, and Finance/Accounting

Develop and manage key sales, operational, and customer service metrics to support your Team

Steward a safe work environment for all employees and customers

Lead the organization to a Best-in-Class culture for Customer Service

Establish and maintain key relationships that are critical to the success of the business

Provide transparency on success, failure, performance, and projections throughout the organization 



Documented accomplishments in leadership for refined products sales & distribution

Successful performance management experience

Energetic, collaborative, and inspirational leadership style

Successful track record of individual/Team development, training, and change management

Entrepreneurial attitude with a history of initiating process improvements in sales, logistics, & distribution

Demonstrated expertise in developing metrics/models to enhance decision making.

Experience in supporting the development and management of an annual operating budget, including rolling stock procurement.

Organizational skills, commitment, and follow through of execution/implementation

Expert financial, leadership, and communication skills 

Expert user of Microsoft Office.

Bachelor’s degree

Passion for motivating a Team and ensuring day-to-day excellence in execution
