Energy Recruiters is supporting a Client in their search for a Division Vice President.  In this role, you will be responsible for leading a multi-product line distributorship serving the Southeastern US.   

 

Compensation

$150K-$180K Comprehensive Benefits, Profit Sharing

 

Responsibilities

Overall responsibility for running and setting the strategic guidance of the distributorship.   Ourclient is a rapidly growing company through both internal growth and deployment of capital as well as strategic acquisitions of smaller competitors in its geography. 

The ideal candidate for the Vice President position will be independently driven, with a keen understanding of industry dynamics and long term growth trends and threats.

The position will require both an eye for detail to effectively manage an origination with a heavy operational focus as well as the ability to think big picture around future expansion.

Operations:

Develop a scalable operational team that can support growth in all markets and product lines. 

Key near term project will be to lead in the standardization and consistency of operations across all facets of a geographically diverse organization that has experienced rapid growth over the past two years through acquisition. 

Maintain the quality and standards of the brand by providing exceptional service with policies, procedures, safety incentive programs, driving recruitment & retention. 

Develop overall plan for the deployment and maintenance of rolling stock to include standardized maintenance and replacement schedules. 

Ensure that capital spend is done at the lowest cost and that procurement is standardized across the organization.

Ensure the proper maintenance and tracking of an extensive number of tanks and monitors at customer locations.

Facilitate coordination of operations between product Directors, Sales Managers, and Fleet Manager to ensure that overall assets are being deployed in the most efficient operating model.

Responsible for identifying and helping develop new facilities to support geographic expansion.

Supply:

Negotiate supply contracts.  Knowledge of supply for both fuel and lubricants is preferred.

Engage in active dialogue with suppliers and foster long term development of strategic supply relationships and direction.

Determine if full time Supply Manager is required over the long term with planned growth.

Monitor overall supply use to ensure that the most cost effective supply source is being utilized in the field.

Back Office Operations:

Management of Controller to ensure that the flow of all work processes such as billing and receiving is running smoothly.

Guide the development of reporting tools to enhance business decisions including key performance indicators for sales, asset utilization, labor statistics, and ultimately return on capital.

Coordination with operations to minimize shrinkage.

Provide high level guidance to leverage soon to be deployed accounting system (FireStream) to take advantage of enhanced workflow processes and ensure customer service is best in class.

Sales:

Drive sales in existing product lines. 

Overall responsibility for oversight of sales effort through your sales leadership Team

This includes an active role in the development of sales goals, incentive structures, and monitoring of goals and progress.

Develop “Key Customer” sales calling effort and participation in sales calls for such customers.

Develop vision and strategy for entry into additional product or service lines that may be synergistic current operating platform.

High attention to detail regarding customer credit, through coordination with Credit Department and sales to balance growth of business while minimizing bad debts

 

Requirements

Four year college degree, business or finance preferred.

Experience in the petroleum industry at the wholesale or distributor level

Familiarity with trucking industry preferred as drivers are our biggest asset

Familiarity with lubricant and fuel industry is highly preferred

Acquisition integration experience preferred.

Analytical strengths using Key Performance Indicators, ROI, Process improvement, utilization, trends, etc.

High level strategic thinker developing business plans, growth plans and synergies.;

Team and Organization builder understanding the family culture of  and instilling that culture in the organization.

Must be able to function in a high energy, fast paced environment.
