The Vice President of Sales Operations will support a rapidly growing, multi-channel sales organization. This critical role is responsible for executing the design, implementation, and management of improved and standardized policies/procedures across all of the Client’s sales organization.

This is a highly visible and complex role, since the candidate will interact extensively at both a senior management and individual contributor level with cross-functional teams to ensure that the company meets revenue objectives. You must be a passionate and proactive visionary in driving the sales process, goals and objectives. In addition, we need a strong leader who is extremely well organized, detail-oriented, quality-minded and possesses excellent communication skills.

As an Executive Member of the Leadership Team, you will be responsible for the following:

Work closely with the Executive and BU Leadership Team to develop and implement best-in-class sales processes and manage day-to-day sales operations.

Pioneer and implement sales, marketing and training programs/strategies that increase business with existing customers, attract new business opportunities, and differentiate us within the marketplace

Champion a Sales Culture throughout the organization by educating the sales Teams on company initiatives as they pertain to the overall sales operations

Develop and define key metrics and reporting systems, facilitate data reviews, and performance analysis to gauge execution and adjust sales strategy to enhance sales effectiveness and productivity

Leverage technology, automation, and process improvement resources to streamline and digitize the prospect-to-cash cycle for all core business units

Implement enhancements in CRM system for applications within the customer service, distribution and sales department to enhance sales effectiveness, productivity and improve sales reporting tools

Partner with Leadership to design and implement sales processes for international and global operations

In partnership with Marketing, establish a scalable Lead Generation process for all lines of business, manages sales campaigns inside of CRM, and track results to measure success of campaigns

Support the VP of Digital Transformation in leveraging our eCommerce solution to digitize customer experience, add products and services to the platform, and increase overall digital sales effectiveness

Work directly with sales managers and sales professionals across all business units to target, prospect, and close new business; performs weekly pipeline review with sales teams and BU leadership to ensure Team members are driving critical KPIs/ initiatives

Collaborate with sales team on account bids, RFP’s and contract quotations and ensure that all internal teams are appropriately informed for successful on-boarding / integration

Assist in the development of sales staffing plans and ensure readiness to meet customer and business demands

Oversee and lead the development and ongoing administration of all sales commission and incentive compensation programs

Requirements and Skills

At least ten (10) years of progressive sales management experience with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in sales operations management

At least five (5) years direct sales experience with a proven track record of success at all customer levels

Extensive Experience with CRM, sales reporting and/or knowledge management tools

Demonstrated experience developing and implementing sales reporting systems and conducting analysis

Experience in business analysis (including implementation, tracking, problem resolution and reporting)

Innovative and technology savvy

Proven track record of working with team leaders and executives at high levels in the organization

Ability to develop clear action plans and drive processes with numerous interdependencies

Excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong presentation skills

Strong problem solving skills, analytical capabilities, and collaboration skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Must demonstrate leadership, influence, project management, relationship-building skills

Must have attention to detail, a commitment to quality, be results driven and customer focused

Experience in the petroleum or retail industry is preferred

Willingness to travel as required for business purposes

Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred
