This Business Unit Leadership opportunity is a strategic leadership role responsible for successful outcomes in all transportation operations, customer relationships, fleet performance, safety, efficiency, as well as continued expansion and profitability.  As the Senior Executive Leader, you will orchestrate senior operations, financial, information technology, and human resources leaders to secure the best possible big team wins, chart a path for sustainable, scalable growth, and set new industry standards for operational excellence in bulk transportation.

Management Expectations

Safe Work Environment: Create, foster and enhance a safe work environment for team members, customers, and vendors. Ensure all operations comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

Operational Excellence: Ensure consistent implementation of effective policies, processes and standards. Enhance the customer experience and financial results through excellence in safety, accuracy, flexibility, and efficiency.  Obtain, analyze and benchmark results from applicable analytics, share groups, and industry resources.

Performance Reporting: Bring focus and inspire Team to row in the same direction. Develop, review and improve upon leading key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive the goals and vision. Regularly review performance data, provide actionable insights, and hold your Team accountable.

Resource Allocation: Optimize the allocation of resources, including staff, rolling stock, vendor relationships and budgets.   Ensure that resources are used effectively to meet business goals.

Budget Management: Develop, manage, and optimize the business unit’s budget. Monitor financial performance and mindfully adjust as necessary to eliminate waste, ensure safe, profitable operations, and ultimately exceed financial targets.

Capital Expenditures: Responsible for CapEx planning to ensure goals, budgets, and projects are realized.

Technology Integration: Leverage technology and data to enhance operational efficiency, including route optimization and fleet management systems.

Fleet Management: Support the Director of Fleet Maintenance in ensuring a safe and cost-effective, reliable asset.

Customer Focus: Ensure high brand execution, operational capacity, and delivered value to exceed Customer expectations.   Build and nurture direct relationships with Customers to promote long-term business partnerships.

 

Expected Competencies and Professional Experiences

Documented results in building, leading, and managing high-performing teams and driving operational efficiency.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to recognize and address inefficiencies as well as implement innovative solutions.

Knowledge of emerging technologies in fleet management, telematics, route optimization, and automation to enhance operations.

10+ years in bulk liquid transportation operations, with 5+ years in a leadership or senior management role.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation Management or related field

Proficient in transportation management systems, fleet management software, and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Proven success in managing large-scale operations, fleets, or transportation networks.

In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations (DOT, OSHA) and safety/compliance standards.

Expertise in fleet management, including maintenance, routing, scheduling, and cost control.

Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, resources, and teams in a fast-paced environment.

Skilled in leveraging data for continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.

Results-oriented, highly accountable and very self-motivated.
