Energy Recruiters has been engaged to support a national fuels marketer in their search for an executive to lead their logistics discipline.

Executive Profile

Executive/strategic role in procurement as well as tactical management of carriers.

Significant experience in negotiating freight business within the context of optimizing freight strategies, in addition to the operational components of trucking.  

Use/model volume distribution, customer margin profiles, BI/analytics, etc. to optimize operational excellence (carrier scorecarding + internal metrics on fulfillment), develop alternative methods to procure/bid carriers, and generally high grade transportation/logistics efforts.

Extensive logistics experience with 3PL model and/or a background in directly managing company-owned assets.

High aptitude for technology enablement in a freight setting. 

Strong leadership skills – someone who can build excitement about value creation through new freight strategies – curiosity is a strong requirement.

Well-versed in analyzing operational methods, developing and implementing enhanced policies and procedures.

A metrics mindset and understanding how to establish carrier accountability and score carding.

A strong player/coach and self-starter; not afraid to step in and help out where and when needed.

Expert skills in negotiation, pricing, contract execution, and management.

15-20 years of logistics & transportation experience in a high volume/transaction environment
