Energy Recruiters has partnered with a regional energy distributor in their search for a Natural Gas Supply Analyst.  


$80,000 - $100,000 base, medical/dental, 401K, bonus, and more


Accurately schedule city gate and pipeline natural gas by prescribed deadlines

Maintain and update spreadsheets with accurate scheduling data, including but not limited to deliveries, usage, inventories, storage, imbalance trades, penalties, and customer data

Optimize use of assets while minimizing costs and avoiding penalties

Add and maintain relationships with pipelines, utilities, and suppliers

Manage storage injections, withdrawals, and hedges

Sell wholesale natural gas for a profit

Trade & manage physical and financial gas positions

Reduce costs by evaluating and obtaining new supply sources, including but not limited to capacity, storage and local production

Provide accurate daily and forward position reports to operations and finance

Keep current and accurate energy costs for the Gross Profit report

Provide month-end reconciliation costs and assist Finance with the costs of goods and P&L generation

Price natural gas commercial variable products

Properly document and book all contracts in accordance with company procedure

Complete quarterly supply plan reviews for upcoming season

Be up to date on all regulatory action in the natural gas and electricity industries, not limited to: deregulation, tariffs, special rules, transportation, etc.

Recommend inventory and margin hedge strategies to risk management team

Assist with the implementation of deal capture and scheduling software initiatives

Research and identify opportunities to grow and expand within current and new utilities and pipelines

Provide all customers with consistent, quality service in accordance with company procedure



Bachelor’s Degree; Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred or 2 + years in energy logistics or purchasing

Prior experience trading or scheduling natural gas

Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

Proficient in computer technology including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Understanding and knowledge of accounting principles

Ability to multi-task while managing highly detailed information
